I have a very similar trouble. I but updated to Windows x, and I tried importing pictures from my SD carte du jour.
I never had an effect before, but at present when I try to import pictures, it searches and and then says "Is this the right device? Nosotros can't detect whatever pictures or videos to import."
I double checked the SD bill of fare in my camera to brand certain I had the pictures on there (which I do) and then I'one thousand not certain what is wrong. I followed both of the Steps that were listed above, but neither worked. I really demand to exist able to import my photos onto my calculator and so I can edit them for clients.
Please assistance as soon as possible, I would greatly capeesh information technology.

I have the same issue, none of the ii steps described higher up fixed it, please help, thought Windows ten won't exist as bad every bit eight was...

My issue is with the SD carte in my camera, a Fujifilm Finepix HS xx EXR. I don't have a bill of fare reader in the figurer I copy photos to, so I use a USB cable and read straight from the card. Or, I did nether previous versions of Windows. The camera shows up in Windows explorer, but when I open up the resource called "External Retentivity," it shows up equally empty.
SD cards do not appear as identifiable devices in Device Manager. Neither does the camera, so there'south no driver to delete and reinstall. Fujifilm's site does not offer drivers, per se, just utility software.
Apparently this problem happens with virtually Fujifilm cameras as well as Nikons. These are extremely mutual brands, then I hope a fix is forthcoming presently.

I recollect add Sony to the listing.
I used to plug in my sony slr with a usb, and I could get my photos off. Now, under "DCIM" there is zero but a agglomeration of symbols. I have to go to my girl's laptop, download them and email them to myself. Once they're on my computer, I tin see them, but I can't get them straight off the camera. My carte du jour reader does the same thing.
The above suggestion did non work for me unfortunately.

I have done your suggested Step 1 simply it did not solve my trouble. As for your Step 2, I have no inkling how to do your #2 as I am not a techie person.

Below is the consequence of post-obit your Step 1. And so my event of Windows 10 non reading the SD is still not resolved. How come up the required driver to allow Windows 10 to read the SD in my reckoner was not installed during the prepare?
"At that place is a problem with the driver for USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller. The driver needs to be reinstalled."
